Cash on delivery
How a cash order works: shipping, collection by the courier, “Označi naplaćeno”, the monthly commission invoice, refused parcels and the cash-on-delivery fee.
On this page
Cash on delivery (pouzeće) means the buyer pays the courier in cash on receipt. Many buyers like it, but for you it differs: the money does not come through Stripe but from the courier, and you pay Autobaza’s commission separately, once a month.
Cash on delivery
A COD order, step by step
Step by step
The buyer orders with cash on delivery
It is only available if you switched it on in Postavke → “Dostava i plaćanje” and every seller in the cart offers it. The total must not exceed the courier’s limit of €1,500.
You ship the part
Same as with cards: 2 working days, “Označi poslano” and a tracking number. The address label also prints the amount to collect (“POUZEĆE: …”).
The courier collects the cash
The courier collects from the buyer and remits the money to you under its own terms (usually within a few working days).
Mark it collected
When the money arrives, press “Označi naplaćeno” in the “Pouzeće” card on the order. This is only possible after shipping. Marking it collected also marks the order “Dostavljeno” (delivered). Cash-on-delivery orders are no longer marked delivered automatically.
Monthly commission invoice
After the month ends, Autobaza issues you an invoice for the cash-on-delivery commission, which also shows in Isplate → Računi za proviziju. You pay it by bank transfer using the details and by the due date on the invoice. Until the invoice is marked paid, the amount shows as “Dugovanje po pouzeću” in Isplate.
Commission on cash orders
It is 8% of the parts price, minimum €1.50 per order, with no card cost. Example: a Golf V alternator at €80 plus €6 shipping. The buyer pays the courier €86 and you owe €6.40 commission. The commission is not deducted from Stripe payouts; you pay it on the invoice.
The buyer does not accept the parcel
When a buyer refuses a parcel it comes back to you. On the order press “Pošiljka nije preuzeta” (parcel not collected). Confirm in the dialog, and:
- the order moves to Otkazano (cancelled, reason: parcel not collected);
- the parts go back on sale (the option is on by default; switch it off if the part is damaged);
- no commission is charged;
- the buyer gets a neutral email and the action is logged.
Cash-on-delivery fee
Couriers charge for handling cash. In Postavke → “Dostava i plaćanje”, next to the cash-on-delivery switch, you can set a “Naknada za pouzeće” of €0 to €5. The buyer pays it. It shows at checkout when they choose cash on delivery, on the order as its own line “Naknada za pouzeće”, on documents and in the buyer’s email. It is not part of the base for our commission (commission is calculated on the parts only), and it counts toward the €1,500 limit.
When cash on delivery is paused
If a commission invoice is not paid on time, cash on delivery may be switched off for your store at checkout. On the dashboard you see a banner with the invoice number and how to pay. As soon as the invoice is paid and recorded, cash on delivery comes back. Card sales are unaffected.
What if I forget to mark it collected?
The order stays “Poslano”, and “Danas” shows a reminder “Pouzeće čeka potvrdu naplate”. Mark it collected as soon as the money arrives.
Can I cancel a cash order before shipping?
Yes, “Otkaži narudžbu”. There is no online payment to refund. If you already received cash (say at personal pickup), you arrange the refund directly with the buyer.
The buyer wants to return after receiving it.
Same as with cards: a return request. If you approve it, you arrange the cash refund directly with the buyer and the order is marked returned.
Why does a buyer not see cash on delivery?
Another seller in the cart may not offer it, the total may be over €1,500, the buyer may have refused parcels before, or it may be paused. At checkout we state the reason.
